Let’s Golf Review
Back in the days of the PS2, Hot Shots Golf in my opinion, was the golf game to get. To my amazement, Let’s Golf [App Store Link] brings the feel of this game to the iPhone.
This game is a welcome change from the slew of iPhone puzzle games. I particularly like how the graphics and the game mechanics closely match Hot Shots Golf. Nice touches like airliners making a pass through the sky further enhance the atmosphere.
Hitting the golf ball involves the standard 3 tap. One to initiate the swing, two to set strength of the swing and the final tap to set the accuracy. If you’ve played any kind of golf video game within the past 10 years, this should be second nature by now.
Other perks like multiplayer and unlockables are available. This game does cost a few bucks more than your average iPhone title but it’s money well spent if you favor solid production values and easy to access game play.
This is an excellent example of developers making good use of the iPhone’s capabilities. A future iPhone hardware revision that includes an upgraded CPU/GPU will further solidly this platform as a killer portable gaming device.
