Gaki no Tsukai Now on Hulu

Gaki no Tsukai

First surprise of the new year for me. You can now watch episodes of the hit Japanese comedy show, ガキの使い(Gaki no Tsukai) on Hulu.

The 24-hour episode is the first of the big batsu game specials. It will be interesting to see how Americans react to these type of shows due to some of the subtle differences in Japanese comedy.

A big thanks to the NTV television company for putting these shows out. With success, perhaps the other Japanese companies will add their shows to the mix. I’m looking forward to a future where I can watch Mecha Ike and Rinkan on Hulu.

  1. It’s quite hard to understand some things in Gaki no Tsukai if you’re new to it. A lot of jokes are internal so you don’t understand them unless you start from the beginning. With no knowledge in Japanese culture and history you’re missing out on a few jokes too. But I hope it’s a success in the mainstream as well, and I’m very grateful for this!
